Final version of the Analog Front-end Electronics for the ALICE TPC-Detector

Rusanov Physikalisches Institut, Heidelberg University The second prototype preamplifier-shaper for the ALICE-TPC Front-end Electronics has been tested at the University of Heidelberg and gone through an extensive full scale system test at CERN. In this report we briefly review the results of the performance of the second prototype chip. A general description of the second prototype circuit can be found in [1]. A summary of the main parameters is presented in Tab.1. All values obtained in tests are well within the specifications [4] except for a lower conversion gain (now understood) that converted into higher noise.
